SMS Weekly News

Hello, Saint Michael School community!

I hope your long weekend is going well. We had a great week at SMS with the boys soccer team winning the championship and a wonderful Veterans' Day program on Thursday.

Here are some important events happening at our school:

No school on Monday - Veterans' Day

Wednesday: School Mass at 8:15 AM

Thursday: Instruments' Program

Friday: Picture retake for anyone who missed the first picture day

Sunday, Nov. 17th: Family Mass at 9AM. After mass we have our "Goodies for Grade 8" event. Please come worship as a community and support our graduating class!

On Saturday, Nov. 23rd we have our annual Turkey Shoot event. I'm very excited as this will be my first time attending! Please plan to attend, as this is an important community-building event, and also an essential fundraiser for the school. Throughout this month students in each class will be asked to bring one item (a can of corn, a bag of potatoes, etc.) and to contribute to put together baskets that will be raffled off. Please see the attachment and if possible, contribute to this great event.

On Wednesday, Nov. 27th we have an early dismissal (11AM). We will also celebrate Grandparents' Day. Grandparents are invited to join for Mass, brunch and other activities. More details to follow.

A very important note about our next report cards and parent-teacher conferences: Report cards will be sent home on Dec. 2nd. We will have parent-teacher conferences on Wednesday, Dec. 4th from 4PM-6PM. Friday, Dec. 6th will still be a half-day (dismissal at 11AM), as previously scheduled. No afternoon bus and no after-school care after 11.

Our book clubs for grades K-2 and 3-5 continue on Wednesdays from 2:15-3PM.

We will soon have more details about a Cheer Club that will be starting after school for grades 1-4. This club is being organized by one of our former students. More details soon!

Have a great weekend and see you on Tuesday!
