Start of School Message
from Mary Elias

Principal

Hello SMS Family,

I know everyone is getting ready for the start of school. We are doing our best to safeguard all our students, faculty and staff to keep everyone safe and remain healthy. It is very important that parents help us by doing your part to keep our school environment COVID free. Please make sure your child feels well before they arrive to school each day. If he/she is informing you theydon’t feel well, take their temperature, please listen to your child, keep them home, and monitor how they feel during the day. If your child has a slight fever, again, please don’t administer Tylenol and send them to school.

Please become familiar by reading over our arrival and dismissal procedures that are clearly written and identified in our COVID Plan on our school website. We are asking your full cooperation with this. We are going through unprecedented times and we need to work together for the betterment of all.

A Few Things to Mention
  •  Parents who have a remote student will receive an email from your child’s teacher before Sept. 14.
  • Face masks are to be worn by each student prior to them entering the building each day.
  • Students may wear gym uniforms for the week of Sept. 14-18. The school day is from 7:45-2:215 for Grades 1-8 and for Preschool and Kindergarten for Sept. 14-16 from 7:45-11:00. Starting Sept. 17, these students will go to full day sessions from 7:45-1:45.
  •  Lunch and drinks from home brought to school and don’t forget morning snack as well. This is a Peanut Free Building now.
  •  Extended Day starts on Sept. 14. Please check out our website for an Informational Letter regarding Extended Day.

Please help us to start the school year on a positive beginning during such difficult times.

Thank you and take care!

Mrs. Mary E. Elias
