Social Events and Fundraisers

Bake Sales

Each month two classes host a joint bake sale and raffle. Students can buy homemade treats and drinks - most for 50 cents! Additionally, students can take a chance on one of the raffle prizes by purchasing raffle tickets. For questions, or to volunteer, please speak with your child's teacher.

Christmas Shoppe

The Christmas Shoppe offers students the opportunity to purchase small gifts for their family and friends. Because students can purchase the gifts at school and have them wrapped, their families and friends will be truly surprised by the gift they receive. Children are encouraged to develop a "budget" of how much they want to spend on each person and they bring their money to school on the day of the shoppe, with most gifts costing between $1 - $10.  For the younger grades, shop helpers will assist with figuring out how much money they have to spend and what they can afford. For questions or to volunteer please contact Heather Pellegrino at hpellegrino@comcast.net

Art Fair and Ice Cream Social

Each May we celebrate your child's achievement in their Art Class by holding an Art Fair.  Your child works hard to create their masterpiece in the hopes of obtaining the 1st Place Blue Ribbon.  Join us for a walk down the halls and relish in the creativity that your child has.  To celebrate all their hard work, have an ice cream sundae!

Jog-a-thon

Each spring, the students of Saint Michael School participate in an outdoor jog-a-thon to raise money for the school. Younger students jog within the school yard, while older kids jog around the school. Prizes and medals are awarded to the top 3 students in each class based on number of laps, in addition to awards for money raised and participation awards for all students. The award ceremony is held a few weeks after the event in the church during school and parents/guardians are welcome to attend! For questions or to volunteer, please contact Heather Pellegrino at hpellegrino@comcast.net

Saint Michael School “Pull – Tab” Collection to Benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children

Did you know that Saint Michael School and Parish collects the “pull-tabs” from soda and other beverage cans to support Shriners Hospitals for Children?

The pull-tab program at Aleppo Shrine in Wilmington, MA supports the services provided by Shriners Hospitals. All proceeds from recycling the pull-tabs go to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Transportation Fund. The Children’s Transportation Fund provides transportation to Shriners Hospitals by bus, train, and air for needy children and their parents, free of charge. The Fund also provides for MedFlight transportation when a child’s life hangs in the balance.

How can parents/students/parishioners help? Collect the pull-tabs from your beverage cans (don’t forget to ask friends and family to collect too!) and send them in with your student or drop them off at the school office! PTO board members will ensure they are delivered to the Shriners program.

In September, we made a donation of six 8-gallon bags!!!

Father/Daughter Dance:

The Father Daughter Dance is an annual event at Saint Michael School.  It happens in early February for a nominal ticket price (less than $10pp).  It is a wonderful event for the girls at Saint Michael School to spend an evening with any significant male in their lives (Godfathers, Uncles, Grandfathers, family friends)

The Church Hall is festively decorated in the theme of that year.  Desserts and drinks are served.  We have a DJ so the kids can dance the night away.  There are always a few dances just for the girls with their guest.  Finally, we take pictures of the girls with their guest and it is sent home as a souvenir in the weeks following.

Mother/Son Event:

Towards the end of the school year, we have an event for Moms ( or any significant female other)  and their sons.  In the past we have done mini golf however the event for this year has not been finalized yet. So please check back.  Thank you!
